federal government is committed to use Electronic Data Interchange
(EDI) for its procurement and acquisition transactions. The seminar
provides information for small businesses on how to use EDI to compete
for government contracts. Topics of discussion will include: an
introduction to EDI terms and concepts, an overview of the government
EDI systems, explanation of the components of a complete EDI system,
the implementation considerations for a small business, and how to use
EDI to do business with the government. The instructors for this class
will be Fred Nevels of the Electronic Commerce Resource Center and Jim
