Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and labor to repair the
boathouse at USCG Station Castle Hill, Newport, RI. The work includes
the repairs to the boathouse including removing the existing asphalt
roof shingles and replacing with new heavyweight asphalt roof shingles
(approximately 30 squares), removing existing wood shingle siding and
replacing with new heavy-duty vinyl siding that reproduces the surface
texture and patterns of cedar shingles, repairing and repainting
fourteen existing wood sash windows, replacing "in kind" four existing
wood sash windows which are deemed beyond repair using the surviving
sash as models, preparing and repainting the existing wood trim,
columns, and doors, repairing and repainting existing wood shutters so
they are operable, removing and replacing six existing exterior light
fixtures and providing four additional exterior light fixtures, and
incidental related work. Completion Time is 120 days from receipt of
the Notice To Proceed. Estimated Cost of this project is between

BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquired short-term capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any prime
subcontract at any tier.The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables
firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts areceivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
