Major items of work include: repair of slides, slumps and fills; installation of underdrains; installation of riprap and gabions; extension of a reinforced concrete low water crossing; and placement of crushed aggregate base and hot bituminous plant mix. Major quantities of work include approximately: 10,000 CY of excavation; 500 CY of borrow excavation; 500 CY of class 9 riprap; installation of 75 CY of gabions; 8,200 SF of fincore, and 500 feet of perforated and unperforated pipe for underdrains; placement of 30 CY of reinforced concrete; and seed and mulch a total of 1 acre on areas repaired or disturbed by construction. The project is located on FS Roads M3, M10,18N03 and 17N02 on the Mendocino National Forest. The project mile posts for Road M3 (MP 0.00) start at Ivory Mill Saddle (T20N,R8W, Sec. 24). MP 0.00 for Road M10 is the intersection of Co. Rd. 306 and Co. Rd 43 adjacent to the Stonyford Ranger Station. MP 0.00 for 18N03 is the intersection with M10, (MP 8.20) MP 0.00 for 17N02 is the intersection with M10 (MP 14.10). To reach the M3 portion of this project from Willows, CA, take St. Hwy 162 west approximately 30 miles to its terminus; proceed west on Forest Hwy 7 for approximately 12 miles to the end of the paved highway; proceed southwest on County Road 311 for approx. 2 miles to the junction with FS Road M3; proceed south on FS Road M3 approx. 7 miles to Ivory Mill Saddle (MP 0.00 for M3 sites). Proceed south on M3 to project area. To reach the M10, 18N03 and 17N02 portions of this project from Willows, CA, take St. Hwy 162 west approximately 21 miles to the intersection with Co Rd 306; proceed south on Co Rd 306 approx. 18.5 miles to the intersection with Co Rd 43 (MP 0.00 for M10 sites). Proceed west on Co Rd 43 to project area. Estimated price range is between $100,000 to $250,000. Estimated issue date is 11 May 98 with an estimated bid opening date of 11 June 98.
