Systems on the St. Joe Ranger District (Avery), Shoshone County, Idaho.
Project involves intermittent flood and storm damage repair on
approximately 15.3 km (9.5 miles) of Trails 120, 318, and 595. Trails
will be designed primarily for stock users. The work will occur on
three sections of trail. The first section begins at the junction of
Jug Camp Trail 318 and Forest Road 363 and continues to the junction of
Trail 318 and Foehls Creek Trail 120. The second section begins at this
junction and continues to Chickadee Cabin along Trail 120. The third
section begins at the junction of Forest Road 363 and the
Foehls-to-Buttes Trail 595 and continues for approximately 400 meters
down Trail 595. The trail system is designed to provide an access loop
into the Foehl Creek area, which is within an area recommended by the
Forest Service for wilderness designation by the Idaho Panhandle and
Clearwater National Forests Land Management Plans. Additive Item
Buzzard-to-Foehl Trail 107 involves 5.09 km (3.2 miles) of flood and
storm damage repair. Approximately start work of July 1, 1998 with 450
calendar days contract time. Price range between $25,000 and $100,000.
