The project requires the removal, disposal and replacement of asbestos containing floor tile, doors, transite type wall panels, pipe insulation, hot water tank insulation, and window putty located in 10 separate buildings. Asbestos contaminated debris shall be removed and disposed of and any incidental work necessary to replace materials and building products shall be provided. New construction materials and building products will be furnished by the contractor. This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is unrestricted. The estimated construction cost is between $25,000 and $100,000. The SIC is 1542 and the small business size standard is $17 million. Completion time is 90 calendar days from date of award. A payment bond will be required if the award price exceeds $25,000. The solicitation will be available on or about 14 May 98 and offers will be due on or about 5 June 98. Price and price related factors will be the basis for award. There is no charge for plans and specifications; however, only written or faxed requests will be honored.
