The Government intends to acquire a Commercial Item using FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA Midrange Pilot Test Program offered by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures specifically FAR Subpart 13.6 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect through FAC 97-04. The Defense Priorities and Allocation System Rating for this procurement is C-9. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS ONLY -- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THE SOLICITATION AND SPECIFICATION WILL BE RELEASED APPROXIMATELY APRIL 29, 1998 WITH AN ANTICIPATED OFFER DUE DATE OF APPROXIMATELY MAY 5, 1998. Selection and award will be made on an aggregate basis to the lowest priced, technically acceptable Offeror. Technical acceptability will be determined by information submitted by the Offeror providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government s requirement. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price Contract with Options. FAR Clauses 52.232-18 Availability of Funds and 52.232-19 Availability of Funds for the Next Fiscal Year are applicable to this procurement. This notice is being issued as a Synopsis for the following: ITEM NO. 1 -- Power Supply, Signal Conditioning Equipment (Pre-production Unit), Current Solution Part No. USA-02P or an approved equal that also shall meet the Government s Minimum Requirements. Quantity: 2 each. ITEM NO. 2 -- Option No. 1 Power Supply, Signal Conditioning Equipment, Current Solution Part No. USA-02P or an approved equal that also shall meet the Government s Minimum Requirements. Quantity: 240 each. Each Offeror shall submit with their offer drawings for Item No. 1. Offerors will be asked to submit copies of the Terms and Conditions of the standard Commercial Warranty on their products. DELIVERY All items are to be delivered FOB Destination, NASA Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Item No. 1 -- Delivery required 4 weeks after the Technical Representative s approval of the Contractor s drawings. Item No. 2 -- Delivery required as follows: Deliver a quantity of 40 each per month until the total quantity has been delivered. Delivery of the first quantity of 40 each is required 8 weeks after the Option is exercised. Please note that Item No. 2 is an Optional Item. SIC Code and Size Standard are 3679 and 500 respectively.
