The contractor will be required to provide a tactical cellular communications system which provides short-notice contingency connectivity for a forward deployed MEU-sized MAGTF and uses cellular based stations with AMPS technology to permit encryption at a level of communications security approved by NSA. Because the system is to be used by a forward-deployed Combat Operations Center (COC), it must be flexible and highly configurable to meet the demands of various contingency operations in an array of different environments. The system is to be used by the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) during June 1998 for a Limited Technical Assessment (LTA) in conjunction with the Joint and Combined MARCOT 98 exercise sponsored by NATO.
