Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside
repairs to the USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-642) including but not limited to
the following minimum items: (1) Clean shipboard ventilation system,
(2) Chemical clean heating/chill water system piping and replace
heating/chill water units, (3) Overhaul steering system, (4) Inspect,
overhaul, and test Appleton ATON Crane, (5) Overhaul warping capstan
assembly, (6) Overhaul boat davit, (7) Inspect, overhaul, and test
chain stoppers, (8) Test pad eyes and links, (9) Remove and dispose of
diesel fuel (up to 2,000 gallons), (10) Remove and dispose of oil and
oily water (up to 40 gallons), (11) Clean and inspect tanks, (12)
Provide new diesel fuel (2,000 gallons), (13) Clean and inspect tanks,
(14) Renew deck coverings, (15) Reseal polymeric deck covering, etc.
Indefinite items include but are not limited to the following items:
(1) Welding repairs, (2) Provide additional new diesel fuel, (3) Minor
coating repairs (2-42-0-F), (4) Minor coating repairs (2-42-1-F), (5)
Minor coating repairs (2-42-2-F), (6) Minor coating repairs (sewage
tank), (7) Minor coating repairs (gray water tank), (8) Provide
temporary messing, (9) Provide additional temporary messing, (10)
Provide temporary berthing (less than 50 miles), (11) Provide temporary
berthing (over 50 miles), (12) Provide additional temporary berthing
(over 50 miles), (13) Single shots (1-99), (14) Provide temporary
logistics, (15) Provide additional temporary logistics, (16) Composite
labor rate, (17) Laydays, etc. Vessel is a 100 Foot Inland Buoy
Tender. Vessel homepier is Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Vessel
availability schedule is on or about 10 August 1998 for 28 calendar
days. The place of performance is geographically restricted to the
Great Lakes area. All referenced documents are available for viewing at
300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA. There will be a
non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requesteddrawings.
Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation issuance.
The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or after 12 May 1998 from our office location, Commander
(vpl-1), Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic, 300 East Main

sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States
