Wiggins, Contracting Officer, 301/415-7328 R-NRC Fitness Center is located in the White Flint North Complex located at 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. The NRC's Office of Human Resources is responsible for administering a comprehensive employee fitness program. The NRC's program is being expanded to focus on disease prevention and encourage lifestyle changes for the purpose of enhancing job performance and decreasing absenteeism. The Fitness program will operate in conjunction with the Employee Health Care Center, the Employee Assistance Program, and the Occupational Safety and Health Program, to provide employees with a complete health promotion and disease prevention strategy. The NRC employs approximately 2100 employees at the site of the Center of which approximately 50 employees are active members. The contractor shall provide all on-site personnel and management to operate and manage the NRC Fitness Center, including the design and implementation of a comprehensive fitness program. The Government will provide office space and office equipment including facsimile and Xerox machines, telephones, file cabinets, monitors, printers, televisions, VCR systems, and a music sound system for the center. The Government will provide all fitness equipment, aerobic equipment and accessories and fitness assessment equipment. Official hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. excluding Federal holidays. The Contractor is responsible for providing adequate back-up personnel so that the service shall not be disrupted at any time during the official hours of operation. A firm-fixed price contract will be negotiated. The period of performance is one year with the option to extend the period of performance 2 additional years. The NRC Fitness Center is currently being performed by Hummer Associates under contract number NRC-10-95-284, which expires on September 31, 1998. Proposals for this requirement may be submitted by all small business concerns and small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) for this requirement is 7991. This is not a Request for Proposal.
