Belcher, ACO, (205) 933-4492 The DVAMC Birmingham requires Medical Transcription Services for period 10-1-98 through 9-30-99 with four one year renewal options. Contractor will be required to provide own equipment and have the capability to interface with the VISTA system. Contractor shall also be fluent in technical terminology and specialized vocabularies relevant to dictated materials for medical reports/summaries. Report types will include Compensation and Pension, Persian Gulf Examinations, Discharge Summaries, Operative Reports, Radiology Reports, History and Physical, Consultations, Agent Orange, Pathology, and other miscellaneous reports. All transcribed reports will have required turn around times, which will be strictly, adhered to. Examples of turnaround times are: one hour for Stat or Transfer Discharge Summaries, four hours for Radiology Reports, and twenty-four hours for Consultations. Requests for bid sets must be submitted in writing to either the address listed above or by fax at (205) 933-4489. No telephone requests will be accepted.
