COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 29,1998 PSA#2084PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR AVIATION HAZARD SUITE (AHS) MISSION NASA's
Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking an industry partner(s)
to develop design concepts for one or two instruments for the Aviation
Hazard Satellite (AHS) and support the development of a proposal to
respond to the NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the Earth
Science System Pathfinder(ESSP) Program. Additional information about
ESSP can be accessed at
http://fpd-b8-0001.gsfc.nasa.gov/408/408home.htm. It is expected that
primary selection of the AHS Mission under the AO and the availability
of funds would result in an instrument contract for the selected
partner(s); (please note that funds are not currently available).
GSFC's plans to select a partner(s) using the following steps: 1) issue
Partnership Opportunity Document, which includes a mission overview of
AHS, instrument specifications, and instructions about how to respond
to this partnership opportunity; 2) schedule oral presentations; 3)
receive presentation packages from interested Partnership Opportunity
Document respondents; 4) conduct oral presentations, May 7, 1998; 5)
evaluate oral and written presentations; and 6) select and notify
industry partner(s) prior to the ESSP Step 1 Proposal submission on May
15, 1998. GSFC intends to release the Partnership Opportunity Document
via the internet, on April 27, 1998. All Partnership Opportunity
Document respondents who intend to make an oral presentation must
provide written or electronic notice by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern
Standard Time, May 1, 1998. Notice shall be by e-mail to Tammy Brown at
tammy.brown@ gsfc.nasa.gov, or in writing to NASA Goddard Space Flight
Center, Attention: Tammy Brown, Code 554, Building 11, Room E7,
Greenbelt, MD 20771. All Partnership Opportunity Document respondents
shall deliver 10 copies of their complete oral presentation packages to
Ms. Brown at the above address by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern

Opportunity Document does not represent a guarantee of selection for
hardware development. GSFC does not currently have a requirement for
these instruments or funds available to support their development. In

commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the
