"Construct a Physical Fitness Facility." Successful contractor shall
provide all plant, labor, materials, equipment, incidentals, and
services to perform the required work necessary to construct
approximately a one thousand (1,000) square foot, prefabricated metal
building, color matched to the adjacent barracks 539 and 540 located at
Volunteer Training Site, (Smyrna Airport), Smyrna, Tennessee. This
facility shall consist of: site preparation to provide a level area for
a three thousand (3,000) PSI fiberglass fiber entrained concrete slab
with lag bolts to attach a prefabricated metal framed building and a
finish floor covering of high traffic carpet. The metal framed building
will feature: metal skinned exterior walls with interior insulation,
metal or wood stud walls with sheetrock painted to match interior
flooring, a warranted standing seam metal roofing system, a 2'x2' panel
and grid ceiling system, insulation, lay in 2'x4' four (4) tube light
fixtures, lights, switches,plugs, EMT conduit as appropriate, wiring as
appropriate, fasteners, etc. As appropriate, a 100 Amp, 240 Volt single
phase panel box and breakers, exterior metering, conduit, weather head
and wiring to meet Federal, State, and Local wiring codes, two (2)
each split heating and air conditioning units placed on slabs as
appropriate with interior thermostat control, primary ingress/egress
access will be provided by a single 3'0"x7'0" door system, metal frame,
closure, panic hardware, OSHA exit sign/light with battery backup and
best locking system and an exterior entry way light, the emergency exit
will be the opposite end of the primary entry and will be a single
3'0"x7'0" battery backup and best locking system, a 10' powered metal
roll-up door with concrete access ramp, a water cooler with water
hookup/drain system and electrical cordage, and the exterior walls,
roofing and doors will be color matched to the existing barracks 539
and 540, and finish grading/seeding as required to aesthetically match
the surrounding landscaping. The period of performance will be ninety
(90) calendar days beginning with the issuance of the Notice To
Proceed. Plans and specifications will be available on or about May 15,
1998. A non-refundable certified check or money order is required for
plans and specifications in the amount of fifty ($50.00) dollars made
payable to the Treasurer of the U.S.. The solicitation can be provided
at no cost. Plans and specifications will also be available for review
at various plan houses within the state of Tennessee. Contractors can
call the contract specialist listed above for these locations. The
estimated cost of construction for this project is between $25,000.00
and $100,000.00. This project is open to large as well as small
