Davis, Contracting Officer The purpose of this announcement is to notify perspective bidders of the National Park Services intention to issue a solicitation for the following project: Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision to rehabitate/replace two traction elevators that provide the primary access to Wind Cave (200 foot depth). This would require modification and/or replacement of all elevator mechnical and electrical systems, guide rails (replace with stainless steel or factory applied hot dipped galvanized finish), provide all exposed metal components in the hoistway and pit with hot dipped galvanized finish, rebuilding of the elevator cars, lead based paint abatement, install HVAC, backup generator, and compliance with the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA). The primary concern is high moisture content in the cave and corrision is the major problem to existing mechnical and electrical equipments. Any new equipments must be strictly followed by specification to prevent future corrision problems. This project is located at Wind Cave National Park, SD. This project is being issued under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (Public Law 100-656 (241)and is open to both large and small businesses. SIC code is 1796.
