F -- FRANK CHURCH WILDERNESS VEGETATION INVENTORY SOL R4-IDAWY-98-5 DUE 061798 POC Tammy Smith, 208-236-7584 The purpose of this contract is to provide the establishment and measurement of 288 permanent sample locations (4-point clusters) on the Frank Church Wilderness Area. Work shall consist of locating, establishing, measuring, recording, and entering data for each sample subplot. The Contractor shall establish a 1/24th acre fixed radius plot to determine the number, quality, size, etc., of all specified tally trees, and a 1/300 acre fixed radius microplot to determine the number, quality, size, etc. of all specified saplings and/or seedlings. At other tree land, or non-tree land subplot center, the Contractor shall establish a 1/24th acre fixed radius plot to sample the understory vegetation. Certain other resource data will be recorded and transferred to microcomputer floppy disks. Estimated completion date is November 1, 1999. Cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000.
