R -- BENIN INTEGRATED FAMILY HEALTH PROGRAM SOL RFP No. 624-98-004 DUE 062998 POC Contact Point: Yvette Ahanhanzo-Glele, Tel: 229-30-05-00; Fax: 229-30-12-60 The United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Benin) is contemplating the award of a major five year cost-reimbursement, completion type contract in family health. The geographic area for this activity is Borgou, which is a department in the northeastern region of Benin. USAID requests proposals from private firms, universities or PVO'S to implement this performance-based, results oriented activity, in which proposals will be reviewed, award made, and implementation monitored based upon the Contractor's success at planning for and delivering the specified results in the substantive areas of the project. These will include: (1) improving strategic and operational health planning in Borgou, (2) increasing access to FP/MCH/STD/HIV services and products in Borgou, (3) increasing the capacity of health care workers in Borgou to provide services and perform these services effectively, (4) increasing the knowledge and behaviors of the Borgou population in supporting the use of FP/MCH/STD/HIV services, products, and prevention measures, and (5) increasing community involvement in the planning and delivery of community-level health services and prevention measures in a selected target area of 2-3 sub- prefectures of Borgou. All questions related to this notice and requests for a copy of the RFP must be addressed in writing by fax to the procurement office at the address stated above. The issuance date of the RFP is expected to be approximately fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of this notice. The closing date for submission of proposals will be approximately sixty (60) days from the actual issuance date, and will be specified in the RFP. Only in instances where internet access or utilization of diskettes are not possible will a hard copy of the RFP be distributed upon request.
