plhake@cbcph.navy.mil. QUESTION 1. In the description of requirements
for interface capabilities, "Simrad/Mesotech sonar (analog and
digital)" is listed. Since a sonar system is either analog OR digital,
this suggests that the requirement may be for TWO sonars. However, we
might also interpret the requirement to mean "one sonar, either analog
OR digital". Which is the correct interpretation? ANSWER TO QUESTION 1.
The requirement is to accommodate one sonar, either an analog or
digital sonar, but not two simultaneously. QUESTION 2. In CLIN-0003, it
is stated "Control Console with 50-ft cable". We interpret this to mean
a 50-ft cable between the control console and the pilot control box. It
is also possible that this means a 50-ft deck cable between the control
console and the winch. Please clarify. ANSWER TO QUESTION 2. The
control console with 50-ft cable refers to the cable that connects the
control console to the pilot control box. QUESTION 3. In CLIN-0003, it
is stated "2 monitors (ROV video and vehicle status)". In our system,
the ROV video and vehicle status is superimposed on the same video
monitor (on-screen videographic overlay). Does this mean that only one
video monitor is required? Or is the second video monitor intended for
the simultaneous 2nd video camera described in CLIN-0001? Please
clarify. ANSWER TO QUESTION 3. The Navy's specification for two (2)
(full sized) monitors is based on using one monitor for the RoV video
signal, along with compass and depth information, and the second
monitor for viewing system status information. The Navy requires the
system status display separated from ROV video display. QUESTION 4. In
CLIN-0009, "control console extension cable, unit-one each, 50 ft", is
this an additional extension to the 50-ft cable to the pilot control
box, already included in CLIN-0003? Or is it a deck cable between the
control console and the winch? Or an extension cable for another
purpose? Please clarify. ANSWER TO QUESTION 4. The 50-ft control
console extension cable is an additional extension tothe 50-ft pilot
control box cable (0119) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0192 19980501\19-0003.SOL)
