INTRODUCTION: The Social Security Administration (SSA) is interested in receiving quotes on a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan Minivan SE with a Braun equipped entervan power ramp system. This is a combined synopsis/request for quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written request for quotation will not be issued. This is a simplified acquisition, issued as request for quotation, SSA-RFQ-98-3536. This request for quotation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. Quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted by Monday, May 4, 1998, 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, addressed to ATTN CHRISTINE NAGENGAST, SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION, OFFICE OF ACQUISITION AND GRANTS, 1710 GWYNN OAK AVENUE, BALTIMORE, MD 21207. Quotations can be faxed to (410) 966-9310. REQUIREMENT: 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan Minivan SE with a Braun equipped entervan power ramp system. The following features shall be included: 1) 10" lowered floor only (4 door configuration); 2) side ground effects with molded step running boards; 3) removable front driver and passenger seats; 4) carpeting to match interior; 5) automatic load- leveling air suspension; 6) removable 3 passenger factory rear bench seat; 7) air conditioning front & rear; 8) power windows; 9) power locks; 10) four door style; 11) automatic transmission; 12) fold out power ramp; 13) power side entry sliding door with 3 switches (sets); 14) tinted glass all around; and, 15) EZ lock electric tie-down system. Acceptable Colors: deep cranberry, deep amethyst, island teal, light iris, or forest green. Total Quantity Required: 1 (one) minivan. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Baltimore, Maryland 21235 on or before Monday, May 18, 1998. All quotes will have an acceptance period in which the quoter agrees to hold the price of its quote firm for 30 calendar days from the date specified for receipt of quotes. The following provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items, (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (b)(1)-(b)(9), (b)(11), (c), and (g). There are no addendums to these provisions. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. The Government will award a contract resulting from this request for quotation to the responsible quoter whose quote conforming to the request for quotation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate quotes in descending order of importance: lowest price and technical acceptance. A written notice of award or acceptance of a quote, mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful quoter within the time for acceptance specified in the quote, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Before the quote's specified expiration time, the Government may accept a quote (or part of a quote) whether or not there are negotiations after its receipt, unless a written notice of withdrawal is received before award. Quoters are advised to include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with their quote. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. There are no addendums to these provisions.
