The Target Defeat Team, R&T Directorate, Edgewood Research, Development and Engineering Center (ERDEC) is interested in gathering information on existing items in the commercial sector that pertains to 1) quick curing, high strength rigid foams, 2) quick curing, high strength adhesive systems, 3) hybrid foam/adhesive systems, and 4) dispenser technology to dispense rigid foams and/or adhesive systems. Rigid foam materials and adhesive systems are currently being investigated as non-lethal systems which could be potentially used to delay access into buildings by sealing shut doors/windows and/or blocking small passageways, as a material to foul small arms and other weapons, and as a material for affecting the mobility of vehicles. Some commercial polyurethane materials and epoxies have already been investigated. An ideal candidate should possess equal or greater strength, faster cure time, and faster cure time under cold temperatures as well as possibly wet environments, than commercially available polyurethane materials. There is also an interest in lightweight, handheld dispenser technology, which would be compatible with the materials and objectives as mentioned above. There is no commitment on the part of the U.S. Army to award a contract as a result of this notice and there is no intent to pay for any information received.
