Lyles, Contract Specialist, (202) 366-4229 The Federal Highway Administration plans to issue a full and open competitive solicitation. The objectives of this study are to: (1) develop a set of driver characteristics for use in traffic simulation models to evaluate the design and operational features of roundabouts; and (2) develop human factors guidelines for roundabout signing, pavement markings, and design elements including guidance for safely accommodating pedestrians, bicyclists, and the disabled in negotiating roundabouts. NOTE: Submit written requests for copies of the solicitation to the address indicated above and include two (2) self-addressed gummed labels. No telephone, fax or e-mail requests will be accepted. All RFP's will be mailed in 3 1/2" diskette, WordPerfect 6.1 format, to offerors who send in written requests. Amendments, if any, will be mailed either in hardcopy or diskette format.
