Williams, amy.williams@msfc.nasa.gov. NASA/MSFC plans to issue a
Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the Rapid Prediction of Turbine Flow
Environments. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified
Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items
from Virginia Commonwealth University. The acquisition of supplies or
services is determined to be reasonably available from only one
source. Support is needed to enhance the capabilities of the
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code CORSAIR to allow for faster
analysis and aerodynamic configuration parametrics. CORSAIR is the only
code of its type that meets Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC)
requirements for rocket turbine unsteady predictions. Currently, the
CORSAIR code is only being used for research by MSFC and the code's
creator. The enhanced version of the code will be used by MSFC for work
on the Reusable Launch Vehicle. The Government does not intend to
acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. See Note 22.
