The contractor shall modify existing Lifting Surface Cavitation Code (Lscav) and perform validation and parametric studies in support of the Hydrodynamics Analysis Project. Performance will be at the contractor's facility. The Government intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Engineering Technology Center, Mystic, CT, order using the procedures per FAR Part 12 and 13. ETC is the only qualified vendor at this time to perform these modifications and studies because the LScav is the only model of its kind that includes center-body effects in the computation of cavitating flow about a lifting surface, and it is proprietary to ETC. A written solicitation will be issued by 05 May 98. Anticipated award date is 15 May 98. Delivery will be F.O.B. destination, Newport, RI approximately eight months from date of award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the government. Telephone requests will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed purchase order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0119)
