On or about 15 May, the IRS intends to issue a solicitation for the operation and management of its Health Improvement Fitness Center located in the New Carrollton Federal Building, 5000 Ellin Road, Lanham, Maryland. The center totals approx. 6,750 sq. ft. which includes showers, fitness testing room, weight room, aerobics room, director and staff offices, training room, and music system with a remote. The center Government furnished includes new and reconditioned equipment which will require daily maintenance by the contractor. Some contractor furnished equipment, supplies and services are required. There are approximately 3,500 IRS employees at the New Carrollton site. An option is included for operation and management of the IRS fitness center located at 1111 Constitution Ave., Wash D.C. which is 4,140 sq. ft. and has approximately 2,800 employees. This will be a fee for service contract and compensation to the contractor will be solely from fees collected for memberships and other fitness activities. The contract will have a base year and 4 option years. A site inspection visit will be held at both sites. This requirement is set aside 100% for Small Business.
