Contractor shall provide preventative maintenance on model JEM-2010 Transmission Electron Microscope, including accessories, in accordance with Statement of Work. It is intended to award this contract to JEOL USA Inc., Peabody, MA on a sole source basis. JEOL USA Inc. is the only known source in the United States that sells and services the JEM-2010 TEM. The TEM is completely computer controlled and all of the computer software is proprietary to JEOL USA Inc., and is not available to outside service organizations. Without knowledge of the instruments operating software it will be impossible to service this TEM.
