NOAA compiles and prints the official nautical charts for the U.S. Vital information on these large format maps changes weekly but offset printing does not economically allow printing this often. NOAA has developed technology related to print-on-demand (POD) and would like to have this method available to produce charts that are up-to-date at the time of sale. Pursuant to the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 (as amended) a partner is being sought to perform further research and development on this technology and then to commercialize it for use in POD facilities.
