The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to negotiate sole source with R.J. Instruments Ltd., Trafford, PA 15085, for a variable pressure upgrade to their proprietary design of a Scanning Electron Microscope. The variable pressure upgrade, P/N 40P04375 includes a performance upgrade, 4-segment backsatter detector upgrade, and a variable pressure kit. The features include four element detector, enhanced signal processing, automated, differential pumping system for chamber pressure up to one ton, normal high vacuum operation, and continuous adjustment of high voltage throughout range. On-site installation and training are also required. This procurement will be carried out under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. No Request for Quotation is available. All interested parties must respond within 15 days of the date of this announcement.
