ANNOUNCEMENT B -- RFP FOR HEPATITIS TESTING LABORATORY,
RFP-NIH-NIAID-DIR-98-53. The Division of Intramural Research has a
requirement for a contractor to detect and quantify markers of
Hepatitis and other viruses in samples of human and animal origin.
Commercially available kits and tests developed in house are to be
employed. Offerors must meet Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards
as certified and established by the Food and Drug Administration and
described in the following Code of Federal Regulations but not limited
to 21CFR58; 21CFR211; 21CFR600; 21CFR610; and 21CFR630. The offeror
must be located within 1 hour of the NIH campus, Bethesda, Maryland in
order to provide rapid pick-up and delivery of viral samples to ensure
sample viability. It is estimated that one contract will be awarded for
a period of performance of five (5) years. But it should be noted that
due to increased emphasis in vaccine programs, the Government reserves
the right to make more than one award. Any responsible offeror may
submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government. THIS IS
A FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION under SIC Code #8734. The solicitation will
be issued on or about 15 work days after publication of this notice
with a planned closing date of 30 calendar days after issue date.
