The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)is seeking the services of one or more highly qualified engineering/architectural consultant to provide on-call design and review services to support the on-going facilities maintenance program, Capital Improvement Program, conduct special complex engineering studies, provide engineering support for recovery from emergency conditions and provide design and construction support for new capital construction beyond the existing 106 mile Metro Rail system, for adjacent construction and joint development projects and for additional services as required. The contract term is three years with two-one year options for extensions. Experience in design, engineering and architectural support of complex rail and bus systems is required with the following selection criteria applicable : (1) demonstrated specialized experience and technical expertise in the design, engineering and architectural support for an operating rail and bus systems; (2) demonstrated ability to perform lump sum fixed priced design task orders within the allocated timeframe and ability to perform various task orders as issued in a timely manner to adhere to the Authority's schedule, includes both staffing levels and management/supervision of staff; (3) past performance on contracts with transit authorities and other entities for consultant work of the nature required under this contract; (4) location in the general geographic area of the WMATA transit system or ability to provide a local office, as well as knowledge of the overall Metro transit system; and (5) demonstrated ability to offer innovative design concepts in both architecture and engineering to accomplish Metro's various task orders to be issued under this contract.
