Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is searching for a commercially
available, non-developmental, water de-chlorination system. The system
will be used to remove harmful substances from water in preparation
for reverse osmosis treatment. The requirements of the system are as
follows: The system should 1) be capable of NON-CHEMICAL removal of
free chlorine, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, and contaminants common
to Third World municipal water supplies, 2) be capable of filtering
common debris from natural and municipal water supplies, 3) be capable
of filtering 100 gph/ 379 lph, 4) weigh no more than approximately 300
lb/ 136 kg and be transportable with a common pickup truck. Modular
systems will be considered. 5) be operable without the use of an
external power source. Pump units should be diesel driven. 6) be
capable of nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) decontamination
without sustaining damage. THE MARINE CORPS DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A
CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY
