DUE 071098 POC Mark S. Federer, Contracting Officer, (404) 842-6789
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates award
of a five year contract (including options) to synthesize and
disseminate current scientific findings from youth risk behavior
intervention programs and program evaluations. Synthesis involves both
cataloging and analyzing scientific literature and convening expert
panels to reach consensus. Dissemination is the process of delivering
the findings of these synthesis activities to those who might use them
to improve their practices (at the national, state, and local levels)
to reduce the burden of adolescent health risk behaviors. The contract
will be divided into three complementary tasks paralleling the aspects
of synthesis and dissemination described above. Task A will involve
updating, maintaining, and expanding a series of adolescent risk
behavior-specific research databases within the Youth Risk Behavior
Research Registry. Task B will involve planning, implementing, and
documenting expert panel meetings. Task C will involve development of
reports resulting from Task A and Task B activities, and disseminating
results. Written requests for copies of the solicitation will be
honored if received within 15 days of the RFP issue date, which will be
on or about May 30, 1997. Requests received after that date will be
filled on a first-come-first-served basis until the supply is
exhausted. The date specified for receipt of offers will be
approximately 40 days after the RFP issue date. Requests for copies of
the RFP must cite the RFP Number: 98B139(N). Telephone requests will
not be accepted. This acquisition will be 100 percent set-aside for
small business concerns. The applicable SIC Code is 8733. For purposes
of this acquisition, a business concern is considered "small" if their
average annual receipts (including affiliates) during the three
preceding fiscal years do not exceed $5 Million. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
