material and equipment necessary to perform various exterior repairs at
U.S. Coast Guard Group Moriches Station. The work includes but is not
limited to: repair of a cupola, installation of a wood entrance ramp
and the resetting of the exterior entrance door, replacement of
flashing, installation of a new concrete walkway and replacement of
white cedar shingles. This Request for Quotation is being issued
pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program
and is open to both large and small business participation and is
estimated between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The applicable SIC Code
is 1751. Plans and specifications will be available at a non-refundable
charge of $16 per set. Certified checks or money orders are required
and should be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and sent
to the firm at 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Cash will not
be accepted. Bid packages will be available on or about 13 May 1998.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women
owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term
working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related
contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at
any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for
bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The
DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
loses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00. For further
