Andrews The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection
Service (FSIS) has a requirement for translation services, on an as
needed basis, to and from the following languages: French, Spanish, and
English. In addition, translation services will be required during the
Codex Alimentarius meeting with foreign government officials in the
United States. Turn-around time for translations during the meetings
shall be 3 hours. A Firm-Fixed Price contract is contemplated. This
requirement is 100-percent set-aside for small business concerns with
a 5 point preference given to woman-owned and/or small disadvantaged
business concerns. A small business concern is defined for this
procurement as SIC code 7389, $5 million. The period of performance for
this procurement is one year, with four one-year option periods.
Solicitation packages will be available on or around May 20, 1998. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by
the Agency. Request for solicitations packages shall be in writing and
may be faxed to 202-690-1814. No telephone requests will be honored.
