70 -- SIMULATOR CONVERTERCARD AND ENHANCEMENT SOL N00178-98-Q-0010 DUE 052198 POC Barbara Walters 540-653-4904 E. J. The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis from Terametrix Systems International, Inc., 2480 Lakeside Drive, Las Cruces, NM the following items: (10 PB/103 programmable half slot ISA bus pcm simulator/converter cards (6 each); (2) PCM simulator card enhancement to provide control of buffer switching (NRE-NON-Recurring engineering) (1 each). These products will be inserted into specialized hardware developed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Size and weight requirements of the overall system mandates the size of all the components. The system architecture is based on an enbedded computer on an ISA bus backplane with half length card slots. The maximum length of any card on the system bus is thus limited to eight inches. The Teremetrix PB-103 is the only known available card in a half-slot ISA bus card that also meets the requirements of 15MB data output. The Teremetrix card has been tested and evaluated to meet all of the Government requirements except specific control of its on board memory buffers. Item 2 is a software modification to a programmable logic chip on the board to correct this deficiency. The PB-103 operates by generating a digital data stream from onboard memory buffers. There are two sets of buffers, data is read from one buffer and output, then read from the other buffer and output, in a continuous loop. This allows data in the buffer not in use to be updated by the host controller. The modification shall allow control of the timing of the buffer swap via software command to an I/O port on the card. This modification shall also be documented and the documentation included. This is a software change only and no hardware change shall be included. The system under development is required to support testing already scheduled at another range facility. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Appropriate SIC Code is 3577. The Government shall not issue a written solicitation as a result of this notice because all pertinent information is contained herein. This procurement shall be awarded on an all or none basis.
