C -- MARKET SURVEY FOR CONTROL SYSTEM UPGRADES ON STEAM GENERATING DEVICES POC Ted Ptashkin, (215) 897-7596 E-MAIL: e-mail address for Ted Ptashkin, ptashkin@mailgate.navsses.navy.mil. NSWC-SSES Philadelphia is seeking sources for services to support ongoing programs such as control system upgrades on steam generating devices. Many existing Navy steam controls systems have become antiquated and training for these systems has become expensive. Therefore NSWC-SSES is in the process of installing state of the art electronic controllers and process transmitters. NSWC-SSES is seeking possible contractors that can provide shipboard installation industrial trades for these efforts. These installation efforts usually occur at Norfolk, VA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; and Bremerton, WA. In an effort to reduce costs, NSWC-SSES would prefer to have a contractor designated for each site. Typically, NSWC-SSES develops system installation drawings and would provide these drawings to the contractor for work package definitions and man-day estimates. These upgrade efforts would require any combination of the following services from the contractor (per drawings which would be provided): rigging new components to installation locations; welding of new foundations; mounting new components to foundations;installing electrical cables;electrically connecting new components;installing pneumatic tubing; leak testing of pneumatic tubing; installing/welding high pressure tubing/piping;hydrostatic testing of new tubing/piping with test reports. Interested contractors should supply the following informationn to NSWC-SSES: 1) typical company literature which is normally available to the public; 2) brief descriptions of previous shipboard (or similar) efforts; 3) which sites are of interest for possible bid. NSWC-SSES point of contact is Mr. Ted Ptashkin, (215) 897-7596 (0126)
