REQUEST FOR INFORMATION -- The following information constitutes a
market survey of the industry to identify potential sources and to
determine whether or not we can solicit this requirement as a
commercial service. Our goal is to determine what businesses in the
commercial arena (nongovernment) are doing to get the following
service: Contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, tools,
materials and supervision to perform visual information services for
Maxwell AFB and Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, Alabama. The services consist
of both graphic products (electronic presentations, 35 mm slides,
posters, charts, displays, etc ) and photographic products (processing
and print, electronic images, location and studio photography, etc ).
This requirement necessitates on-site management. Chemical processing
and printing may be accomplished on base using contractor-furnished
chemicals, materials and equipment. FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY: A
firm-fixed price contract is contemplated with a one year basic period
plus four one-year options. Security clearances are required. Release
of the solicitation is anticipated in the last quarter of FY 1998. The
applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) and size standard are
7336/$5M. Firms responding to this synopsis must provide the following
information: 1) company name, address, point of contact, telephone
number and e-mail address; 2) business size (whether you are a small or
large business concern based on the size standard above); 3) are you an
8a firm?; 4) furnish commercial terms and conditions that you have
available that could meet our requirement; 5) furnish evidence of your
firm's ability to provide on-site management of visual information
services of this magnitude; 6) under your commercial terms and
conditions can or do you provide emergency workload plans to
accommodate increases in workload, mission changes etc outside normal
duty? 7) names and telephone numbers of some of your customers (this
office will query the customers on inspection and acceptance
procedures; 8) comments relating to the plausibility of using FAR Part
12, Acquisition of Commercial Items for this acquisition. This notice
is not a request for proposal (RFP). This synopsis is for planning
purposes only and does not commit the government to pay for the
information requested. A solicitation number is not available at this
time. Industry responses to this notice should be received in our
