shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation,
supervision and disposal necessary to replace roofs, gutters and vent
stacks at USCG ISC Boston Family Housing, Nahant, MA (Essex County).
There are twelve single family houses to be re-roofed. Work includes,
but is not limited to, the removal of approx. 168,000 sf of existing
asphalt roof shingles, approx. 420 lf of gutters and downspouts, 24 DWV
pipe flashing boots, and 12 oil furnace vent stacks. Install approx.
168,000 sf of new 300-pound shingles with under layment and eave
protection membrane. Install 24 new DWV pipe flashing boots, 12 new oil
furnace vent stacks, approx. 1,056 lf of new gutters, approx. 600 lf of
new down spouts, and incidental related work. Estimated cost of this
project is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC code is 1761. Period of
performance is sixty (60) calendar days from Notice to Proceed.

Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is

of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
