The Bureau of the Public Debt intends to negotiate a sole source procurement to acquire new versions, pay for periodic charges and upgrades for BMC proprietary software through the issuance of a multi-year contract for a period of ten years with BMC Software, P.O. Box 2002, Sugar Land, Texas 77487. Public Debt has the following BMC software currently installed on an Amdahl 5995 Model 2570M mainframe computer: Delta IMS Virtual Terminal, Image Copy Plus, LoadPlus for IMS. BEST/1 -- DATACENTER; AUTO-CAPTURE DATACENTER; CICS SUPPORT FACILITY; DB2 SUPPORT FACILITY; AND, MULTI-CAPTURE VISUALIZER. Please note the items in all uppercase are products acquired by BMC from BGS. Two other products acquired by BMC from BGS are network server products: BEST/1 VISUALIZER FOR NT AND BEST/1 VISUALIZER FOR NETWARE. These software products are used to generate a model of the system(s), provide performance reports, and allow "what if" analysis of the model for tuning and capacity planning. All affirmative responses must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show the compatibility in an MVS/ESA environment, and, as applicable, a Netware (Version 4.01 and above) or NT (Version 4.0 and above) environment, and must be received within 15 days of this advertisement. In addition to the technical literature, respondents must submit references and pricing information. Other than the functional requirements available for downloading off the internet at http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/oa/oaproc62.htm, no solicitation is available. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. Telephonic inquiries will not be accepted. If no affirmative written response is received within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice to the effect that a comparable items(s) is available or that is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining software from BMC, a sole source acquisition shall be negotiated with BMC.
