COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 11,1998 PSA#2092CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY RELEASE The
Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) has been amended to require all
contractors who provide supplies or services to the Department of
Defense (DOD) to be registered on a Central Contractor Registration
(CCR) database. This includes foreign contractors that do business with
DOD inside the United States, but excludes foreign contractors doing
business outside the United States. CCR registration will be a
condition of award for contracts resulting from solicitations issued
after 31 May 1998. Therefore, if a contractor is not registered in the
database, he will not be eligible for award of any DOD contract.
Further exceptions are listed in the DFARS. This announcement serves as
notice that the US Army Contracting Command Europe (USACCE) will award
contracts only to those contractors in full compliance with CCR
requirements. Further information is available from the CCR
Registration Assistance Center at 1-888-227-2423, customer service, or
via the internet at http://www.acq.osd.mil/ec/faqs. CCR registration
site is at http://ccr.edi.disa.mil. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0463 19980511\SP-0007.MSC)
