T -- FABRICATION OF TOPO RELIEF MAP SOL RFQ-OO-98-Q-32 DUE 061598 POC LaTonya Richardson, 202/720-8057 The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of Communications, Design Center seeks a contractor to provide all labor, materials and supervision for the fabrication, shipment and installation of one (1) tactile topo relief map and base which encompasses the entire Spruce Knob Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area (Seneca Rocks, West Virginia). The key geographic areas will be shown and outlined with lights and shaded borders. The model includes a reader rail with push buttons for fiberoptic lights. All areas to have appropriate braille identification. The elliptical overall size of the model is 7'-5 1/2"L x 6'-2"W x 2'-8"H. The map size is 5'-8 1/2" x 4'-5" with a 101/2" reader rail. The base is also elliptical in shape. The height is 2'-3". The model will be of the highest museum quality and high durability, able to withstand the wear and tear of highly visited attraction. The model will be oriented properly to north and set so that visitors can walk around it and have wheelchair access. The awarding contractor must have appropriate experience and shall submit one (1) representation area model, 12" x 12", for review and approval. The USDA will provide all necessary resource material. Vendors must include in their requests the RFQ number (RFQ-OO-98-Q-32), complete mailing address and telephone/fax numbers. A Wage Determination has been requested for the Washington-Baltimore Metropolitan Area and is pending. The contracting officer will requests additional places or areas of performance if asked to do so in writing by May 15, 1998. Requirement will be processed using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The procedure to be used in awarding the contract will be via written Request for Quotation.
