A -- NATIONAL INVENTORY OF DAMS UPDATE POC Anthony Niles, 703-428-6816 The government intends to write a Purchase Order to the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), Lexington, Kentucky to assist in the coordination and participation of dam safety offices in each of the 50 states and Puerto Rico in the 1998 update of the National Inventory of Dams and to assist the U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) in reviewing the information from the states and identifying errors and inconsistencies. The Association of State Dam Safety Officials is a national, non-profit association dedicated to the improvement of dam safety through research, education and communication. The ASDSO is the only organization familiar with the data, the appropriate state personnel, and the resourses needed by the states for effective participation in the NID update within the given time. This action will be accomplished under simplified acquisition procedures. Numbered Note 26. (0128)
