The work includes clearing & grubbing, excavation & embankment, construction of waterbars, turnpike, ditches, reconstructionf trail and installing sections of corrugated alumium culverts. The project is located on the Methow Valley Ranger District, it may be reached from Winthrop, WA. Travel West on Highway 20 to Mazama. Turn here to County Road 1163, this road becomes Forest Road 5400 at the Lost River.Follow this road to the trail head at Hart Pass. From here the project may be reached by following two miles of the Slate Peak Road and 8 miles of the Westfork Pasayten Trail to the Holman Creek Trail, or by following the Pacific Crest Trail 13 miles to Holman pass and the other end of the Holman Creek Trail.
