Project is for the first two phases of a 5-phase program for the total renovation of the Chemical Wing, of the USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) located at 600 Mermaid Lane, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. The first phase will comprise 16,000 square feet, with the second sequential phase of 13,600 square feet. It includes the complete renovation of existing laboratory, office, and support space. It includes architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and communication. The mechanical work includes complete replacement of HVAC, plumbing, gas, compressed air, and vacuum. The electrical includes complete replacement of the building distribution system and all fixtures and outlets. The controls include complete replacement of existing with computer-based control of building, HVAC, and other functions. The estimated price range for both Phases 3 and 4 is between $5 million and $10 million. Completion time is to consist of two phases with 12 months for the first phase, followed by 12 months for the second phase, with a one-month phase to relocate personnel and equipment, for a total of 25 months. A Pre-Bid Conference will be scheduled.
