COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 15,1998 PSA#2096

Defense Information Systems Agency, DITCO-NCR, 701 South Court House Road, Arlington, VA 22204-2199

58 -- MODULAR INTERFACE/INTERCONNECT SYSTEM FOR RF AND LANDLINE DUE 052698 POC Chrissie Fields, Contract Specialist (703) 607-6911 or Randy Grey, Contracting Officer (703) 607-6895 The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is seeking information in this DBC "Sources Sought" announcement for a system that is a modularized approach to controlling and interconnecting various types of communications systems. System should be comprised of interface modules designed to connect a specific communications medium such as Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio, telephone, Satcom, High Frequency (HF) radio, and Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems. System should include a rack mountable chassis to accommodate the modules, and a back plane to route audio and control signals between modules. Control and setup of the modules should be capable of remote access and control from an RS-232 serial port to allow programming, monitoring, or remote control of all functions of the system via an external computer. System should accommodate additional interconnected chassises to allow for easy expansion by adding or removing interface modules to accommodate different interface configurations. Pricing should be based on a basic system and an expanded system. Pricing should be provided for each module and component that will make up the systems. The basic system should be capable of bridging and conferencing any of the modules to each other. The typical basic system is comprised of:1. The necessary power and control modules for the system; 2. Four telephone interface modules for interface to the Public Switched Network or PBX systems; 3. Four Radio Frequency (RF) interface modules for interface to HF, UHF and VHF radio systems; and 4. Three interface modules to interface with Ring Down Circuits The expanded should also be capable of bridging and conferencing any of the modules with each other and between chassises. The typical expanded system is comprised of: 1. The necessary power and control modules for the system; 2. Four telephone interface modules for interface to the Public Switched Network or PBX systems; 3. Twelve RF interface modules for interface to HF, UHF and VHF radio systems; and 4. Five interface modules to interface with Ring Down Circuits. Interested vendors shall provide at no cost or obligation to the Government, technical information for evaluation. This "Sources Sought" shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government for any follow on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this "Sources Sought". The Government shall not be liable for, or suffer any consequential damages for any technical information identified, e.g., limited and/or restricted rights. (0133)
