This announcement constitutes the solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 1PI-Q-0068-98 is issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), the solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-02. The purchase is for packaging Item 0001 -- PKG-0552, PADCF, 48"(W) X96"(L) X 1/4" (T), Double Wall(DW), BC Flute, 275 LBS. QTY:65,000 each. The delivery order minimum is 1,000 each and the maximum is 5,000 each. Final Acceptance is subject to UNCIOR Quality Assurance Inspection. Variation in quantity is +/- 5% increase and decrease. Delivery, inspection and acceptance will occur at the FOB Destination point: Federal Correctional Institution Forrest City, AR. Delivery is no later than 30 calendar days after the receipt of each delivery order. FAR provision at 52.212- 1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, offerors are advised to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer. This will be a firm-fixed price requirement contract with an economic price adjustment provision to escalate once per year in accordance with Bureau of Labor Statistics Commodity Code 0301 for Corrugated Shipping Containers. The period of performance is 2 years. Award may be made with/without discussions to responsive/responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, considering price and price related factors. Bidder must hold prices firm for not less than 30 days from the bid opening date.
