Entire Painting/Textile Storage Rack System is divided into two sections (each side of the room). The first section (left side of the room) should be approximately 12'-0" Length and 8'-0" Wide and will include 12 pull-out art racks 8'-0" Height x 8'-0" Depth @ 12" apart. The second section (right side of the room): Part A should be approximately 10'-0" Length and 8'-0" Wide and will include 10 pull-out art racks 8'-0" Height x 8'-0" Depth @ 12" apart; Part B should be approximately 3'-0" Length and 6'-0" Wide and will include 3 pull-out textile racks 8'-0" Height x 6'-0" Depth @ 12" apart. Textile poles should be spaced out 12" apart. System to also include 600 "S" hooks (400 medium and 200 large) and all textile supports (poles and brackets) to hang 16 poles (8 on each side) vertically on each pull-out textile rack. Painting Storage/Textile Rack System must be a freestanding unit independent of the ceiling. System must not exceed the floor load of 125 lbs. per square foot, and must not exceed the deflection of "L over 360." System To Include The Following: Panels all aluminum with handles (recessed/retractable handles if available), Tracks structural steel, Trolleys stainless steel with ball bearings, Both sides of each panel must be able to be used to hang paintings/textiles, Panels must be able to be fully extended for easy removal of artwork, "S" Hooks must be able to support 125 pounds each and safely hang various sizes of artwork, Poles all aluminum for textiles, Adjustable brackets for textiles, Poles and brackets for textiles must be able to support 75 pounds each and safely hang various sizes of textiles, Panels must be able to glide easily over existing floor tile. Qualified American Indian vendors will be given priority consideration in accordance with the Buy Indian Act (25 U.S.C. 47 as implemented by BIAM 2.1). The system offerred by the vendor must conform exactly to the technical specifications or vendor must satisfactorily demonstrate how any substitution will meet or exceed the establishedspecifications. Vendor that is awarded the contract must make a preliminary planning trip to Washington, DC to survey the space for potential problems and confirm measurements. After this preliminary planning trip the vendor must provide detailed drawings to be reviewed and approved by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board prior to order placement. Bid must include costs for preliminary trip to Washington, DC, materials, freight to Washington, DC, installation and any travel costs associated with installation. Vendor that is awarded the contract must send company experts to do the installation of the system and may not use other third party laborers or contractors. The Painting/Textile Storage Rack System will be installed at the following address: U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts, 1849 C ST NW, Washington, DC 20240. Bids must be received by 12:00pm EDT on May 27, 1998 at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Division of Contract and Grant Administration, 1849 C St NW, Washington DC 20240, in room 2620.
