21045-0701 C -- INDEFINITE QUANTITY CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECT-ENGINEER SERVICES IN
THE PITTSBURGH DISTRICT (PA COUNTIES: ALLEGHENY, BEAVER, GREENE,

Purchasing Specialist, 410-997-6214 The contract for architect-engineer
services will be for two years basic term, with individual work orders
being issued. Each work order will be negotiated as an individual
project. Projects will consist of new construction under the Family of
Automated Designs (FAD) and/or repair and alteration work at existing
postal facilities. Work orders for any one project cannot exceed
$300,000. The contract may be renewed for three, one year periods. The
total amount of work ordered over the five year period may not exceed
$2,500,000. A minimum contract value is $5,000. Firms which meet the
requirements of this announcement are invited to submit: (1) a
completed Standard Form (SF) 254, Architect-Engineer and Related
Services Questionnaire, (2) a completed Standard Form (SF) 255,
Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific
Project, and (3) any supplemental data. Forms submitted must be
received by June 15, 1998. The selection will be conducted by using the
submitted SF 254s and SF 255s. Interested firms with more than one
office must indicate on their SF 255 the staffing composition of the
office in which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given
to interested firms responding to this advertisement according to the
foregoing instruction in the following order of preference: 1. Firms or
Joint-Ventures with representation of all A/E disciplines required for
work described above. 2. Firms located within the Pittsburgh District
(zip codes beginning with 150-154, 156, 260). 3. Firms experienced in
corporate and/or retail standard designs. 4. Firms experienced in
CAD/D (preferably AutoCAD R12 or higher). 5. Firms experienced in
repair and alteration work as well as new construction. Firms will be
considered local only if their sole office is in the local geographical
area or they have a local branch office and all the architectural
design, coordination, and management of the project will be performed
in that office. The contract contains a requirement for firms to
provide evidence of current insurance of $200,000 per claim of Errors
and Omissions Insurance. Participation of Minority-Owned Businesses is
a consideration in U. S. Postal Service architectural selections. It
is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee
to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a
contract for this project. No other general notification for this
