Quotation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format
in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. The synopsis/Request for Quotation is issued
as a Request for Quotation which incorporates provisions and clauses in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. This announcement
constitutes the only Request for Quotation, a written request for
quotation will not be issued. The small business set aside is waived.

is 7372. REQUIREMENTS: The Government intends to negotiate solely with
GEAC Computers, Inc., 9 Technology Drive, Westborough, MA 01581, for
a firm fixed price purchase order for: (1) the purchase, installation

REQUIREMENTS: The Government intends to negotiate solely with GEAC
Comuters, Inc., 9 Technology Drive, Westborough, MA 01581, for a firm
fixed price purchase order for: (1) the purchase, installation and
training (2 days) of the web interface (GEOWEB) for the Geac ADVANCE
system, including 10 GEOWEB users licenses to be added to the GEAC
ADVANCE database for NRC Integrated Library System (NILS). NRC's
salient evaluation features of selecting software include: keyword and
browse searching, display holdings information including availability
of materials, in-context online help, familiar point and click
interface, links within records, ability to mark records for display,
printing or e-mail, place and cancel holds, view holdings, make ILL
request, renew books, virtual catalog, Z39.50 standard compliant. (2)
Project management, technical support, and authority processing on
approximately 23,000 bibliographic records and approximately 73,000
system generated authority records, programming to update or replace
existing authority records, updating the index profile and reindexing
of the entire NILS database. Authority Control processing: The NRC
Library will provide a 8mm data cartridge containing approximately
23,000 US MARC bibliographic records, approximately 73,000 system
generated authority records from the current GEAC Advance NILS database
to the contractor. The contractor shall perform automatic and manual
review of bibliographic records to clean up the database for any
inconsistency, errors, obsolete headings and tags. Create new headings,
cross references, and replace the current authority records with the
current Library of Congress authorized records. Specification for
authority control processing can be made available upon request.
Upgrading MARC Records: The contractor shall search and match all
23,000 bibliographic records against Library of Congress MARC records
and replace the record with a Library of Congress record for the
Leader, Fixed Fields, ISBN/ISSN, and all authority fields. Mapping:
Move the 730 or 740 tags in all serial records to 246 tags. Reindexing:
After the authority processing is completed, the contractor shall
restore the 23,000 updated bibliographic records, and the new authority
records back into NRC's GEAC Advance, NILS database and reindex the
entire database as stated in the Specifications for Authority Control
Processing. The GEOWEB software will be housed on a SUN Ultra SPARC
server. The NILS application resides within NRC's overall LAN/WAN
network infrastructure for the two Rockville, MD White Flint campus
buildings and seven satellite offices located in King of Prussia,
Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; Arlington, Texas; Lisle, Illinois;
Walnut Creek, California; Chattanooga, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada.
The platform for this infrastructure is Novell 3.X with Windows 3.1 and
Windows 95 workstations. Interested parties should submit written
technical documentation demonstrating their ability to provide the
software specified to the NRC and a cost proposal. The following
clauses are applicable to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms
and Conditions -Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. FAR
52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes
for Executive Order-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition with
the following addition clauses: 52.222-26 Equal Opportunity; 52.222-35
Employment Reports on Special Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the
Vietnam Era. FAR 52-219-8 Small Business Program Representation and
Offerors Representations and Certifications shall be completed and
submitted with the Request for Quotation. Offerors are due May 28,
