The Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk,
Virginia requires services necessary to remanufacture one (1) Type I
Modular Ambulance manufactured by Collins, 1990 Ford F350, Four Wheel
Drive, 7.3 Liter Diesel Engine. All repairs, alterations and upgrades
are to be in accordance with the Federal Specification KKK-A-1822 in
effect when the ambulance was built. The following is an outline of the
minimum work to be performed during the remanufacture process: (1)
Pre-Manufacture Inspection; (2) Removing Module; (3) Ambulance
Electrical System; (4) Engine; (5) Front End; (6) Transmission/Drive
Train; (7) Four Wheel Drive Transfer Case and Differential; (8) Brakes;
(9) Rear Suspension; (10) Air Conditioning System; (11) Exhaust System;
(12) Truck Cab Exterior; (13) Truck Cab Interior; (14) Patient
Compartment Exterior; (15) Patient Compartment Interior; (16)
Remounting Module; (17) Final Inspection; (18) Warranty. All work is to
be performed by personnel who have at least Level II certification as
Emergency Vehicle Technicians (Ambulance Electrical, Heating,
Air-conditioning and Ventilation Systems) by the EVT Certification
Commission, Inc., P. O. Box 894, Dundee, IL 60118. All replacement
parts are to be either the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or an
approved manufacturer and part number. The Navy Transportation
Equipment Management Center representative must approve any substitute
parts. This is a firm fixed price procurement with an estimated final
completion date of 3 August 1998. The proposed contract is 100 percent
set aside for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial
Classification Code for this procurement is 3711 and the Small Business
size standard is 1,000 employees. Specifications will be available on
