Fletcher, Contracting Officer, (228) 689-8369 The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to award an indefinite delivery type contract to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Oceanogrpahic Systems Laboratory for technical support services to provide technical documentation, technical operations and maintenance support services for the Towed Oceanographic Survey System (TOSS) program utilizing various Government owned equipment. Services may be required utilizing facilities at the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, The contractor's facility, or at remote worldwide sites for repair, troubleshooting, and testing of the system/equipment aboard vessels supporting NAVOCEANO search, survey, ocean engineering, instrument implantation, and environmental monitoring. The program to be supported includes two TOSS, 20,000 fsw fiber-optic towed vehicle systems designed for deep ocean surveys, Vehicle Service Module, Mission Control Module, Nav Comm Van, Spares Van (environmentally controlled containers), and Cable Handling System. The contract will be issued under other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 as stated requirements can only be satisfied by the developer of the systems in inventory. The contract will be for one base year and four option years. The solicitation, N62306-98-R-A001, is anticipated to be issued o/a 14 June 1998 with a closing date to be 30 days after issuance.
