The project consists of intermittent emergency flood damage repair at
16 sites on three routes. Project includes: construction survey &
staking; construction scheduling; contractor sampling & testing; bridge
removal; 1,600 metric ton minor asphalt concrete; 2 hectare clearing &
grubbing; concrete headwall for 2,250mm culvert; 70 cu meter
structural concrete; 11 cu meter shotcrete; 3,500 metric ton crushed
aggregate; 130 meter culverts; 16 meter structural plate; 80 meter
underdrain; 1,000 meter silt fence; 40 meter temporary diversion
channel; 20,000 cubic meter roadway excavation; 1,700 cubic meter rock
borrow; 700 cu meter unclassified borrow; 150 sq meter type 1-A
earthwork geotextiles; 130 meter guardrail; 16 meter approach railing;
250 ea willow bundle; 2,826 kilogram reinforcing steel; 63 kilogram
structural steel; 280 sq meter geogrid retaining wall (topsoil faced)
which includes 50 cu meter topsoil, 1,300 sq meter mulch blanket, 1,100
cu meter granular backfill, 3,000 sq meter geogrid; 1,600 cu meter
class 5 keyed riprap; 3,000 cu meter class 4 placed riprap; 300 cu
meter riprap blanket; 3,700 meter controlled blast hole; 12 meter
guardrail removal; 240 hrs flaggers; 3,500 meter pavement markings; 10
slry units seeding & mulching; and other smaller items of work. This
project is located approximately 17 miles south of Powers, Oregon. Work
shall be completed by October 15, 1999. Estimated price range is
between $1,000,000 and 2,500,000. Presolicitation Notices are being
provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis. The following applies only to Minority,

Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing
and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's
Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment
bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum
