This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items perpared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. DAHA47-98-Q0322 Request For Quotation(RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. This is a Small Business Set-aside. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to dissolve the Small Business set-aside and award to large business if unable to obtain quotations that are competitive with market prices in the industry and competitive in terms of quality and delivery. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code: 3489. Size Standard: 500 employees. Item 0001 External Baffle Panel 2,304 SF This item shall consist of furnishing baffle panels that are to be mounted to baffle supports located on the range. The external baffles shall be pre-fabricated by the manufacturer in units of 4 feet in height and length varying to fit a 24 foot support structure. The length shall be small enough to be handled and installed with minimum work. When installed, the external baffles will consist of six rows of 4 feet high by 96 feet long, divided in 24 foot sections to fit the support structures. Each panel shall be furnished with all fastening hardware. The panels will allow a bullet to enter the front, but after ricocheting off of the back surface, cannot escape the panel. These panels will be hung on the supports, above the flight path of the bullet, to prevent the bullets from leaving the firing range. the manufacturer shall supply a representative to instruct personnel on installing and maintaining the baffle panels. Item 0002 Internal Baffle Panel 720 SF This item shall consist of furnishing the same panel as Item 0001. These panels will lay flat above the shooters location (such as a ceiling), in the sheltered shooters area. The internal baffles shall be pre-fabricated such that when installed, an area 12 feet by 60 feet is attained. Dimensions of each panel shall be sized so that handling and placement of the panels can be done with minimum work. The manufacturer shall supply a representative to instruct personnel on installing and maintaining the baffle panel. Item 0003 Bullet Trap 60 LF The bullet trap shall be a minimum of 9 feet in height and capable of being mounted on a 13.5 foot wide concrete pad. It shall be able to stop bullets for its entire height and width. All metal parts shall be primed and painted. Included with the bullet trap are all hardware and miscellaneous items necessary for assembly to the government furnished concrete pad. The manufacturer shall supply a representative to instruct personnel on installing and maintaining the bullet trap. Items are to be delivered within 30 days of award to Volk Field CRTC, Camp Douglas, WI. Far 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial applies to this RFQ.
